The Forge

Steel remembers the heat and the hammer.

Every billet is folded by hand from high-carbon 1095 and nickel-alloy 15N20, forged to endure punishing backcountry conditions and heavy field dressing.

Material Grain

Forged from alternating high-carbon layers.

Alternating layers of 1095 and 15N20 steel are stacked, forge-welded, and drawn out repeatedly. Acid etching reveals the distinct organic grain topography, combining extreme edge retention with structural toughness.

Precision triple-temper cycles relieve internal billet stress while setting an enduring working bevel that stands up to frost, blood, and dense timber.

Handle Assembly

Billets are folded and drawn under precise heat to fuse layers without cold shuts or inclusion flaws.

Hollow and flat working geometries are hand-ground to optimize cutting efficiency and balance.

Differential heat treatment hardens the edge while maintaining a resilient, shock-absorbing spine.

Stabilized burls and micarta scales are pinned and shaped by hand for a secure, all-weather grip.
